In September of 2022, I was ready to give up on the idea of a UI-based automated trading platform. I had coded myself up against a wall, with an architecture that was too slow for advanced use cases and impossible to extend. A complete system overhaul was needed, and I didn't have anybody that cared about what I was working on. Instead of letting my years of hard work go to waste, I open-sourced my work, and released NextTrade into the wild.

I wrote an article on NextTrade describing its features and functionality. It was the first article I ever wrote on Medium. After publishing it, the reception I got was overwhelming! The repository got hundreds of stars and dozens of forks, and people seemed truly interested in the platform..

The support I received reignited my passion for the project. I knew I could make it faster and more configurable. I chose to rebuild the entire project from scratch, and got to work building the platform that you're reading this article on. In the end, NexusTrade was born.

It took months of engineering to fix the inherent problems with NextTrade. This article describes the challenges I faced with NextTrade, and the specific changes that were implemented to "fix" the platform. It also describes the new features within NexusTrade, including its AI-Powered Chat.

NexusTrade continues to grow everyday, almost entirely due to these articles and its AI-Powered chat. The AI-Chat is an engineering masterpiece, and has potential applications outside of finance, including education and business automation. Yet, in order to implement an AI-Powered, you need deep technical expertise. At the very least, you need to be a proficient software developer with an understanding of APIs. For most people, you'll also need a rudimentary understanding of neural networks and different AI algorithms and techniques.

Certain concepts, like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) are inaccessible to non-technical users, but are extremely useful for everybody. Students, teachers, business owners, and workers can all utilize AI-Powered chats to enhance their workflows and make their lives easier.

For this reason, we're building a new platform called NexusGenAI. NexusGenAI will allow non-technical users to configure advanced chat bots in an easy-to-use interface. In its essence, it will be an advanced prompt management system that allows users to run AI workflows. Moreover, it will have a library of ready-to-use chatbots so individuals can immediately start extracting value from it.

Experiment: Deploying ChatGPT-generated trading strategies to the market

Finally, this recap would be incomplete without going through our unprecedented experiment. Harnessing the power of ChatGPT and genetic optimization, we've created completely AI-Generated algorithmic trading strategies to launch for an experiment. The goal of the experiment was simple – to showcase the speed of configuring a strategy with ChatGPT. Seeing the outcomes was more out of an afterthought; while I wouldn't have expected a simple two-ruled trading strategy to be effective, it's shown some surprising promise in the past few weeks.

NexusTrade is on a path to become the most advanced AI-Powered automated investing platform. Its path has been a rollercoaster filled with peaks, troughs, and crazy fast acceleration. NexusTrade itself has led to the ideation of NexusGenAI, which will revolutionize how non-technical users interact with AI systems.
