For additional information concerning the competitive risks we face, see Item 1A.—Risk Factors in this Annual Report on Form 10-K. Investment Objective and Portfolio We are a leading BDC focused on providing direct lending solutions to U.S. upper middle market companies backed by top private equity sponsors. Our investment objective is to generate current income and capital appreciation through the sourcing and origination of senior secured loans and select junior capital positions, to growing businesses in defensive industries that offer attractive risk-adjusted returns. Our differentiated investment approach leverages the deep sector knowledge and operating resources of New Mountain Capital. Senior secured loans may include traditional first lien loans or unitranche loans.
We invest a significant portion of our portfolio in unitranche loans, which are loans that combine both senior and subordinated debt, generally in a first lien position. Because unitranche loans combine characteristics of senior and subordinated debt, they have risks similar to the risks associated with secured debt and subordinated debt. Certain unitranche loan investments may include “last-out” positions, which generally heighten the risk of loss. In some cases, our investments may also include equity interests. We primarily invest in senior secured debt of U.S. sponsor-backed, middle market companies. We define middle market companies as those with annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization ("EBITDA") of $10 million to $200 million.

Behind the comparison

Sources and methodology

Price return uses split-adjusted daily closes and excludes dividends. Both stocks start on the first shared trading day within the selected window. Unavailable metrics leave gaps.

Financials use SEC canonical statements available by the displayed cutoff, retaining each company's fiscal period end. Annual and quarterly amounts are shown separately. P/E is unavailable when earnings do not support a positive ratio.

Business overlap uses industry tags from annual filings released in 2025. Each core activity receives full weight; each material activity receives one quarter of that weight. Rarer industries carry more weight. We sum the smaller exposure for each shared activity and divide it by the sum of the larger exposure for every activity in either company. This measures business overlap, rather than price correlation or expected returns.

Related comparisons require a shared specific core activity and at least 20% overlap. Broad categories alone do not establish a close peer relationship. Identical classifications can score 100% even when companies sell different products. We select up to ten leading peers per issuer for discovery, combine both directions, and require current common shares, public company profiles and stored price observations. Arbitrary stock pairs remain available.
