Digital platform In addition to store expansion, we continue to expand our digital capabilities as more of our guests choose to engage with us across physical and digital platforms. In fiscal 2024, 18% of our loyalty members shopped both in Ulta Beauty stores and through our digital platforms. Our omnichannel guests are extremely valuable, historically spending nearly three times as much as retail-only guests. Our e-commerce platform has two key roles: generating direct channel sales and profits by engaging our guests in an interactive, enjoyable way that reinforces the Ulta Beauty brand; and driving traffic to our stores, website, and native applications.
The Company has one reportable segment, which includes retail stores, salon services, and e-commerce. We recognize merchandise revenue at the point of sale in our retail stores. E-commerce sales are recognized upon shipment or guest pickup of the merchandise based on meeting the transfer of control criteria. Retail store and e-commerce sales are recorded net of estimated returns. Shipping and handling are treated as costs to fulfill the contract and not a separate performance obligation. Accordingly, we recognize revenue for our single performance obligation related to online sales at the time control of the merchandise passes to the customer, which is at the time of shipment or guest pickup. We provide refunds for merchandise returns within 30 days from the original purchase date.

Behind the comparison

Sources and methodology

Price return uses split-adjusted daily closes and excludes dividends. Both stocks start on the first shared trading day within the selected window. Unavailable metrics leave gaps.

Financials use SEC canonical statements available by the displayed cutoff, retaining each company's fiscal period end. Annual and quarterly amounts are shown separately. P/E is unavailable when earnings do not support a positive ratio.

Business overlap uses industry tags from annual filings released in 2025. Each core activity receives full weight; each material activity receives one quarter of that weight. Rarer industries carry more weight. We sum the smaller exposure for each shared activity and divide it by the sum of the larger exposure for every activity in either company. This measures business overlap, rather than price correlation or expected returns.

Related comparisons require a shared specific core activity and at least 20% overlap. Broad categories alone do not establish a close peer relationship. Identical classifications can score 100% even when companies sell different products. We select up to ten leading peers per issuer for discovery, combine both directions, and require current common shares, public company profiles and stored price observations. Arbitrary stock pairs remain available.
