Bread Savings refers to our DTC, or retail, deposit products, primarily in the form of certificates of deposit and high-yield savings accounts, including traditional and Roth Individual Retirement Accounts. Our Bread Savings products support loan growth and improve our funding mix, making us less reliant on other sources of wholesale funding. In recent years, retail deposits have become an increasingly important source of funds for us, growing 19% from $6.5 billion as of December 31, 2023 to $7.7 billion as of December 31, 2024. As of December 31, 2024, average retail deposits represented 43% of our total funding sources and as of that same date, deposits that exceeded applicable Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance limits, which are generally $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category, were estimated to be $574 million, or 4% of Total deposits.
We operate primarily through our insured depository institution subsidiaries, Comenity Bank (CB) and Comenity Capital Bank (CCB), which, as noted above, together are referred to herein as the “Banks”. Federal and state laws and regulations extensively regulate the operations of the Banks. This regulatory framework is intended to protect individual consumers, depositors, the Deposit Insurance Fund (DIF) of the FDIC and the U.S. banking system as a whole, rather than for the protection of stockholders and creditors. Set forth below is a summary of the significant laws and regulations applicable to each of CB and CCB. The description that follows is qualified in its entirety by reference to the full text of the statutes, regulations, and supervisory policies that are described.

We provide innovative strategies to independent banking and corporate clients throughout the United States. Our dedicated Fintech team specializes in providing banking services to corporate Fintech clients, primarily focusing on operational risk management and compliance. Managing banking relationships with clients in the gaming, payments and banking-as-a-service industries is complex, from an operational and regulatory perspective. Due to this complexity, a limited number of banking institutions serve these industries, which can result in a lack of quality focus on these entities, providing us with an expanded pool of potential customers. When serviced safely and efficiently, we believe these industries provide a source of stable, lower-cost deposits and noninterest, fee-based income.

Behind the comparison

Sources and methodology

Price return uses split-adjusted daily closes and excludes dividends. Both stocks start on the first shared trading day within the selected window. Unavailable metrics leave gaps.

Financials use SEC canonical statements available by the displayed cutoff, retaining each company's fiscal period end. Annual and quarterly amounts are shown separately. P/E is unavailable when earnings do not support a positive ratio.

Business overlap uses industry tags from annual filings released in 2025. Each core activity receives full weight; each material activity receives one quarter of that weight. Rarer industries carry more weight. We sum the smaller exposure for each shared activity and divide it by the sum of the larger exposure for every activity in either company. This measures business overlap, rather than price correlation or expected returns.

Related comparisons require a shared specific core activity and at least 20% overlap. Broad categories alone do not establish a close peer relationship. Identical classifications can score 100% even when companies sell different products. We select up to ten leading peers per issuer for discovery, combine both directions, and require current common shares, public company profiles and stored price observations. Arbitrary stock pairs remain available.
