The company operates in two segments, Global Components and Global Enterprise Computing Solutions. The Global Components segment markets and distributes electronic components comprising semiconductor products and related services; interconnect, passive, and electromechanical products, including capacitors, resistors, potentiometers, power supplies, relays, switches, and connectors; and computing and memory products, as well as other products and services. The Global Enterprise Computing Solutions segment offers computing solutions, such as datacenter, cloud, security, and analytics solutions. This segment also provides access to various services, including engineering and integration support, warehousing and logistics, marketing resources, and authorized hardware and software training. It serves original equipment manufacturers, value-added resellers, managed service providers, contract manufacturers, and other commercial customers. The company was founded in 1935 and is based in Centennial, Colorado.

POET Technologies Inc., together with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures, and sells semiconductor products and services for commercial applications in the United States, Canada, Singapore, and China. The company offers photonic integrated packaging solutions based on the POET Optical Interposer, a novel platform that allows the seamless integration of electronic and photonic devices onto a single chip using advanced wafer-level semiconductor manufacturing techniques. It also designs and develops photonic integrated circuits and optical engines based on the POET Optical Interposer platform. The company serves the data center; tele-communications; 5G interconnect markets, such as PON and GPON, and edge computing for machine-to-machine communications; and sensing markets, including LIDAR, Optical Coherence Tomography for medical devices, and virtual reality systems, as well as light source markets. POET Technologies Inc. was formerly known as Opel Technologies Inc. and changed its name to POET Technologies Inc. in June 2013. POET Technologies Inc. was incorporated in 1972 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
