We are a late-stage clinical specialty pharmaceutical company with a sole mission to address the global nicotine dependence epidemic in combustible cigarette and e-cigarette usage through the development and commercialization of cytisinicline. There are an estimated 29 million adults in the United States alone who smoke combustible cigarettes and an estimated 11 million adults in the United States who utilize e-cigarettes. Tobacco use is currently the leading cause of preventable death and is responsible for more than eight million deaths worldwide and nearly half a million deaths in the United States annually. More than 87% of lung cancer deaths, 61% of all pulmonary disease deaths, and 32% of all deaths from coronary heart disease are attributable to smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke.
Our product candidate, cytisinicline, is a naturally occurring, plant-based alkaloid. In 2018, the U.S. Adopted Names Council adopted cytisinicline as the non-proprietary, or generic, name for the substance also known as cytisine. Cytisinicline is structurally similar to nicotine and has a well-defined, dual-acting mechanism of action, being both a receptor agonist and antagonist. It is believed to work in treating nicotine dependence for smoking and e-cigarette cessation by interacting with nicotine receptors in the brain by reducing the severity of withdrawal symptoms, and reducing the reward and satisfaction associated with nicotine products. Cytisinicline is an investigational product candidate being developed for treatment of nicotine dependence and has not been approved by the FDA for any indication in the United States.

Behind the comparison

Sources and methodology

Price return uses split-adjusted daily closes and excludes dividends. Both stocks start on the first shared trading day within the selected window. Unavailable metrics leave gaps.

Financials use SEC canonical statements available by the displayed cutoff, retaining each company's fiscal period end. Annual and quarterly amounts are shown separately. P/E is unavailable when earnings do not support a positive ratio.

Business overlap uses industry tags from annual filings released in 2025. Each core activity receives full weight; each material activity receives one quarter of that weight. Rarer industries carry more weight. We sum the smaller exposure for each shared activity and divide it by the sum of the larger exposure for every activity in either company. This measures business overlap, rather than price correlation or expected returns.

Search eligibility requires distinct issuers, a shared core category and at least 20% weighted overlap, supported by industry or sector evidence and specific business activities. Broad classifications require stronger overlap within the same sector. Comparisons also need at least 252 shared price observations within two years, recent trading and a common sourced revenue or net-income trend. Missing P/E or gross margin alone does not exclude a comparison. The eligibility snapshot refreshes daily. Related comparisons use a separate, stricter peer rule; their ten-peer discovery limit does not limit search eligibility. Other stock pairs remain available in the comparison tool.
