NexusTrade vs Tradetron: option replay and decision evidence

Compare historical option backtests, minute evaluation, previous-trade state and MCP research workflows in NexusTrade and Tradetron. Inspect a completed option example and the actual audit contracts.

TL;DR

Both NexusTrade and Tradetron support advanced historical strategy research, including options and minute evaluation. Choose by market coverage, fill assumptions and the evidence you need to retain. Fresh NexusTrade events expose condition operands; Tradetron's documented notification log identifies the fired condition without retaining those values. The October 13, 2026 audit completed a NexusTrade option replay but no paired Tradetron run, and free replay entitlement remained unverified after signup.

Start with an actual completed option replay

Recorded SPY call replay: starting and ending NAV

Scale: 0 to 10,000 USD · zero baseline

Actual $10,000 replay

  • Starting NAV+10,000 USD
  • Ending NAV+9,750.77 USD

January 2 through 3, 2024, one NexusTrade account. Ending NAV still includes one held long call and zero closed trades. These endpoints do not reconstruct the intervening path or provide a Tradetron comparison.

Actual native MCP run read by Claude Code on October 13. All 34 stored hourly history observations are retained; they are not every evaluated minute. No Tradetron comparison run.

Open the public example to follow contract selection, decision and simulated fill beside the recorded curve. Tradetron also documents historical option strategy backtesting. The decision is which instrument, fill and audit contract fits your experiment, rather than whether only one platform can test options.

RegistrationThe no-card registration was accepted. No paid trial or brokerage setup was used.
Email verificationThe emailed code was read and the email verified.
Phone verificationA genuine SMS verification code was requested; completion was pending at this audit snapshot.
Free replay entitlementThe signup screen offered building, backtesting and paper trading without a card. Actual included backtest access remained unverified.
Historical test and iterationNo accepted run, trade report or one-rule iteration had been completed.

Actual registration progress observed October 13, 2026. The FastBT public page lists a paid per-test offering; that does not establish whether this new account receives free or promotional runs.

The observed signup required account verification before we could inspect the authenticated research workflow. This access snapshot leaves the documented minute, options, multi-leg and MCP capabilities below intact. It supplies no execution-time or result-quality ranking.

Tradetron’s current market page includes Indian markets, US stocks/ETFs and options, and crypto. Confirm the exact underlying and historical coverage for your broker and region. NexusTrade’s public option receipt above concerns a US option strategy; it is not a substitute for a NIFTY or MCX test.

Ask which values made the condition true

For a fresh NexusTrade test with generate_events:true, query_backtest_events with include_condition_audit:true exposes each base condition’s lhsValue, comparison, rhsValue and isTrue. Match those values to the subsequent order and fill, rather than inferring the signal from a rising curve.

Tradetron’s MCP FAQ says its notification log records the fired condition but does not retain the indicator values behind it; operand capture is described as roadmap work. Its finished backtest-trades tool is a different artifact. Choose the platform and export policy that preserve the evidence you need.

Match the fill contract before comparing a stop rule

Tradetron’s form explicitly selects Open or Close candle fill prices and Intraday or Positional behavior. Its guide applies brokerage and slippage in the returned report. A NexusTrade option replay uses its own quote and slippage contract, so equal candle frequency alone does not make fills equivalent.

The Tradetron input guide lists omissions including corporate actions, rollovers and advanced execution handling. Verify the selected engine and instrument contract before applying that list to a particular account. Retain both platforms’ complete trade records with the cost assumptions.

Inspect the evidence before spending on another simulation

Inspect the request

Connect NexusTrade in Claude Code, then use this request to inspect the public long-call example and plan a controlled comparison. It authorizes inspection only. A new historical run requires explicit dates, fees and your approval. Detailed NexusTrade event generation costs 5 times the normal research tokens and retains traces for 3 days.

Compare the actual visual and paper workflows

Visual rule building and paper workflows are present in both products. NexusTrade's native builder edits nested condition groups; its marketplace lets you filter and compare portfolios before copying a strategy to paper. Tradetron's documented multi-leg and supported-market workflows remain relevant. The account-verification attempt above never reached a completed Tradetron backtest, so it supplies no paired editor or engine score.

Choose by your market and the evidence you must retain

Choose NexusTrade when you want its research inputs, explicit order-state rules and fresh condition operands connected to the historical curve and fills. Choose Tradetron when its supported markets, multi-leg builder, repair logic and connected broker execution fit your strategy. Its API and MCP provide a research lifecycle too.

Run the same specification through paper trading before authorizing live execution. Tradetron calls its paper mode Live Offline. A historical curve, a paper order and a broker fill are distinct outcomes, and the result from one should not be used to claim the other.
