You’ll die broke because of your blind hatred of AI
Stop complaining about AI when your burrito is worse!
The anti-AI crowd would’ve hung Franklin.
“I don’t want no lightning in my walls. If God wanted me to see at night, he’d a given me night vision!”
That’s what you lot sound like.
Honestly, you sound even worse. Instead of actively embracing a new technology that’ll undeniably be used to cure disease, run real-world scientific simulations to achieve breakthroughs in climate science, and automate everything that makes a job boring, you shun it.
Worse, you make up narratives about how it’s “killing the environment” and then post self-righteous TikToks from your iPhone 17 after Doordashing Chipotle and and convincing other NPCs to parrot the same rehearsed points you do.
AI is not NEARLY the boogieman that mainstream media paints it out to be.
But… but… the environment!
I can already see the climate conspiracist scrolling through Google to find their 1 in 8 study that aligns with their narrative. “But AI Data Centers consume more water than all of the bottled water in the world last year!” It consumes electricity, that means more fossil fuels!
That’s the difference between spending $1 billion on machines or setting it on fire. The water in Data Centers isn’t destroyed, converted to another element or destroyed from the face of the Earth. What do these conspiracists think happens to it?
Worst case scenario, the water evaporates… and returns to Earth in the form of rain? I mean, have y’all not learned about the water cycle in 5th grade physical science?
And it’s not the “water consumption” argument that gets me riled up. At a surface-level, they seem to be right. AI does consume water and more than 80% of it is lost to the environment. So why am I so mad, you might ask?
It’s because nobody gave a shit about this until AI came out.
The only people that gave half a damn were the vegans and the vegetarians, and we ostracized them for that.
We still do. And they were right!
In 2023, US data centers consumed 17 billion gallons of water. With an estimated 27 billion pounds of beef produced in 2023, and 1,800 gallons of water needed to make a pound of beef, US beef consumption required around 48.5 trillion gallons of water.
A modest beef tax could save more water annually than all US data centers currently use. And that’s beef alone! Not pork or fish. Not only will “we save the environment”, but the US population will be healthier too.
And don’t get me started on the “fossil fuels” thing. It’s not the fault of innovators that our government failed to act on nuclear energy plants 30 years ago and we’re all feeling the effects. That doesn’t mean we ban things that are “bad for the environment”, particularly when that thing can be used to fix the same problem.
We already have AI to literally predict the shape of some of the most complicated structures in biology.
And applying the same world models to other domains like building better carbon-capture technology and finding less expensive metals for electric vehicles could genuinely save us from the so-called “climate crisis”.
And yet, you want to ban it. Ridiculous!
But Dying Broke? That’s a little extreme, right?
Wrong.
Using AI isn’t just a “nice-to-have”. It’s a need. It’s not enough to even be ChatGPT sufficient. You have to be Cursor-sufficient. N8N-sufficient. MCP, prompt engineering. The list goes on and on.
And I’m not speculating… I’m living it. I’m a software engineer at a fairly big tech company, and I see how much AI is being pushed every single day.
And let me be 100% clear… the AI that’s being pushed is NOT for no reason. It works. PRs get code reviewed faster. Designs get drafted sooner. Self-reviews and knowledge sharing… it just becomes easier.
And the AI-haters are MISSING this. They would rather spend 8 hours doing it the old way than 18 minutes doing it the new. That’s not just dumb; for an employer, that’s a liability.
But even beyond productivity and employability, your hatred of AI blinds you to the very use cases that can make your life better right now.
Take investing and stock picks. A person will shout on Reddit about how much they hate AI and simultaneously lose a quarter of their portfolio betting the house on BYND stock and GameStop.
Whereas, if you just used AI to do basic research and analysis, you could’ve doubled the stock market or more.
With my personal accounts, I’ve gained over $60,000 in the past 2 years. While I’m far from trillionaire status, I’ve literally made more money than I have money in the account.

And I’m not the only one.

Concluding Thoughts
Go ahead. Keep hating AI.
Keep telling yourself the environment can’t handle data centers while you order DoorDash three times a week. Keep telling yourself algorithms can’t beat the market while your portfolio bleeds. Keep telling yourself you don’t need to learn new tools while your coworkers ship twice as fast.
The same people who would’ve protested electricity are now protesting AI. And just like their ancestors, they’ll spend the rest of their lives wondering why they got left behind.
The anti-electricity crowd didn’t just miss out on light bulbs. They missed out on refrigeration, television, the internet, and everything that came after.
You’re making the same choice right now. Except this time, the gap compounds faster.
Franklin would’ve used ChatGPT. What’s your excuse?
