Large Language Models. Dall-E. Intelligent Agents. And the singularity. This is the future that the AI-hype bros are trying to convince you is coming in 2024 and 2025. With all of the investment in artificial intelligence, you would expect some concrete advancements beyond AI-generated spam and fancy photo generators. Yet, if you go on the street and ask a random person how AI has helped them, do you know what they’d say? Not at all.

Yet, the downsides of AI have become more abundantly clear. Bad actors are using AI to generate spam, mass produce low-quality content, and even create advanced phishing scams by using deep-fake technology. The downsides of AI are becoming very clear. And for these reasons, I am certain of one thing: the AI Bubble will burst before it blows back up.

The Pros and Cons of Artificial Intelligence

Before the AI-hype bros crucify me, just know this. I’m on your side! I studied AI at Cornell and Carnegie Mellon, and write about AI constantly.
