A Stock Screener? How is that useful? 🤔

The AI-Powered stock screener redefines what's possible in an investing app. When searching for new investment opportunities, traditional platforms do not offer tools to make this possible. Traditional search tools and screeners are opaque, rigid, require technical knowledge, or don't let you query for the information you need.

For example, Robinhood, one of the world's most popular brokerages, shows users:
- Stocks that hit a new 52 week high/low 📈
- Stocks that are "daily gainers" 📊
- Stocks that belong in one broad category (like technology or energy) 💡
But trying to search for niche industries, PE ratio, PS ratio, volume, price, market cap, total assets, revenue, income, or other fundamental indicators is impossible in the majority of investing platforms.

In fact, I'll dare say that there isn't a single popular investing platform that lets users query for for this type of information, particularly in an intuitive way accessible to everybody.

Yet NexusTrade allows you to do exactly this. With its advanced AI-Powered Chat, users can interact with a chat bot and execute highly complex queries intuitively. With GPT-4, you can even build more complex queries, allowing you to search across multiple companies, with multiple criteria, all with natural language. It's insanely powerful!

While this feature is insanely powerful and can execute a diverse range of queries, it does come with some limitations.
|
To start, the functionality isn't flawless yet. There are often times where you execute a relatively complex query, and you can't tell if no such stocks exist, or if the model had a bug producing the correct output. For example:

When getting this error message, it can mean one of three things, and each of them is very hard for the end-user to detect.
|
- The model could've did a poor job at interpreting the input
- The input data is messed and the model did what it was supposed to do
- The request from the user simply returned no results.
|
Let's briefly talk about some of these issues, and how I intend to address it in the next few weeks.

Improving Model Interpretation
|
For those that read the technical article, you'll know that the model translates plain English into a MongoDB Aggregation Pipeline, which is essentially code that runs against a database. It's quite possible that the data in the database existed and was accurate, but the model did a bad job at generating the correct code.

GPT-4 is far less likely to make this type of mistake. While I am actively improving the GPT-3 experience, which makes up the vast majority of chat requests, I encourage you to upgrade your account to get a more seamless experience with this feature.

Improving the Data Quality

To execute this functionality, I rely on external data partners to surface historical fundamental data. If there exists a problem in the database, particularly for a niche stock or an outlier, the problem will be quickly surfaced with an intelligent query.
