Explaining NexusTrade’s financial AI to skeptical readers
In conversations about NexusTrade, I have found that some people with finance or technical backgrounds quickly recognize what I am building. Others are more skeptical. That is my experience with particular conversations, not a finding about everyone who attended a certain university.

When a person hears “LLM,” “database query” or “genetic optimization” without seeing the work those terms describe, the value can be hard to judge. My job is to explain the mechanism clearly enough that skepticism does not depend on knowing the jargon.
Some of the people I spoke with recognized the research use-case immediately. That feedback was useful, but credentials alone do not establish whether a product works.
Here is the mechanism in plain English. Ask: “Show Amazon’s Q3 2023 revenue and net income.” The tool retrieves the requested financial record rather than relying only on a chatbot’s memory, then presents the figures for you to inspect. In my February 2024 Amazon example, the recorded response gave $143.083 billion revenue and $9.879 billion net income. You can check the reporting period and source, then separate business performance from the price you would pay for the stock.
Without that example, someone can reasonably hear a list of technical terms and still ask what the product actually does. That is a communication gap I can address.
Some reactions remind me of the skepticism directed at opaque “AI stock signals.” Showing the question, retrieved data and its limits is a better response than assuming the reader cannot understand. A useful research tool still needs to earn trust.
