If you can’t beat them… steal their idea. Creating a better algotrading system

Dear Technical or Semi-Technical NexusTrade user,

I commonly make a bold claim. Using the NexusTrade platform, a non-technical investor can configure any trading strategy that they can possibly imagine.

I make this claim because when I trade, I tend to execute buy and sell decisions. For example, I may want to buy $500 of NVIDIA when its price is below its 30 day simple moving average. Or, I may want to sell 50% of my Google shares when the shares are up 10%.

However, there are a subset of traders that like to execute "portfolio management" strategies. They use the trading platform Composer. NexusTrade currently lacks the capabilities to execute these type of "rebalance" actions.

In order to accomplish my goal of configuring any trading strategy that an investor can possibly imagine, I need to implement this rebalance action. This article goes through the design of such a feature, and the rationale for integrating this into the NexusTrade platform.
