Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about NexusTrade, trading, and the platform.
# Frequently Asked Questions
## General
### What is NexusTrade?
NexusTrade is an AI-powered, no-code algorithmic trading platform. It lets you create, backtest, optimize, and deploy automated trading strategies without writing any code.
### Do I need coding experience?
No. NexusTrade is designed for people with zero programming experience. You can create strategies using the visual no-code builder or by describing your ideas to Aurora in plain English.
### Is NexusTrade a brokerage?
No. NexusTrade is a strategy-building and automation platform. To trade with real money, you connect your own brokerage account through one of our supported brokerages.
### Is my data secure?
Yes. NexusTrade uses industry-standard encryption, two-factor authentication (2FA), and secure OAuth flows for brokerage connections. We never store your brokerage passwords.
## Trading
### What assets can I trade?
NexusTrade supports:
- **Stocks:** All US-listed equities (NYSE, NASDAQ)
- **ETFs:** Including leveraged ETFs (TQQQ, SOXL, etc.)
- **Cryptocurrencies:** Major crypto pairs via supported brokerages
### What brokerages are supported?

### How often do strategies check conditions?
Strategies are evaluated on every new price tick during market hours. For daily (OHLC) strategies, this means once per day at market close. For intraday strategies, this can be as frequent as every minute.
### What happens when the market is closed?
Strategies only execute during market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET for US stocks). Conditions are not evaluated when the market is closed. Crypto strategies can run 24/7 depending on your brokerage.
### Can I trade options?
Options data is available for research and analysis. Options trading support depends on your connected brokerage's capabilities.
## Pricing & Billing
### Can I try NexusTrade for free?
Yes. The Observer plan is completely free — no credit card required. You can create strategies, run backtests, and paper trade.
### Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time. Navigate to your profile settings and click "Manage Subscription" to access the Stripe Customer Portal.
### Do unused research tokens roll over?
No. Research tokens reset daily and do not accumulate.
### What's the difference between a NexusTrade subscription and a portfolio subscription?
They're completely separate. Your **NexusTrade subscription** (Observer, Data-Driven Investor, etc.) controls your platform features — AI tokens, optimizations, live trading limits. A **portfolio subscription** is a monthly payment to another user to access their monetized portfolio, copy their trades, and see their positions. Even free-tier users can subscribe to monetized portfolios. See [Portfolio Subscriptions & Monetization](/docs/features/portfolio-subscriptions) for details.
### Can I earn money on NexusTrade?
Yes. If you have a paid NexusTrade plan, you can monetize your portfolios by charging subscribers a monthly fee. NexusTrade handles payments through Stripe Connect. Your platform fee (the percentage NexusTrade retains) depends on your subscription tier — higher tiers keep more. See [Portfolio Subscriptions & Monetization](/docs/features/portfolio-subscriptions) for the full breakdown.

### How long does the course take?
6-8 hours total, but you can go at your own pace. Most students complete it in 1-2 weeks.
